There's this man in my city who comes out at night and sells old books right off the sidewalk, presumably until the city guard find him. The other week he happened to have this book, 40-years old, with a dedication from a lover to lover. I confused it for part of the Alexander trilogy, but turns out this one is actually about Socratic ideal of love.

Just when you stop believing in fate the perfect book finds you.

This is very, very repetitive and not very inventive so far. A few interesting observations which are subsequently done to death.

I think I know why I can never love Summers' stories even though she's damn talented.

She can write heartbreakingly miserable characters who don't realize they're miserable and I wish she didn't smother all those truths she has to tell in plastic wrapping of tumblr aesthetic.

I appreciate that finally some interesting sci-fi information is introduced, but... Why do I get just a random scrap of what Bengt knows? Surely he read that *whole* article?

Also, I have a feel that English is either Gordon's second language or this book is supposed to read like it's narrated by a non-native speaker? Is it a literal translation from Esprus? That'd be kind of impressive. I think.
