I feel bad saying this but I might DNF this...I love Alexandra Bracken's writing but this book is dragging for me and I just don't feel invested :(

It’s not that I’m not enjoying this, because I am, but it just feels so…long? And I’m just ready to wrap it up and move on and the fact that I have 200 pages left makes me not want to keep reading lol

I'm enjoying this book so much more than Late Bloomer, the first book I read from this author. I'm so glad I gave this book a shot :D

I'm having so much fun with this book

I like the heroine but this book def has way too much internal monologue and can be info-dumpy in a way that makes my eyes glaze...

that said, I am still invested and want to see how things progress between the Quincey and Thallor.

Decided to read this ARC on a whim while on the train and I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying it so far!

I love how easily I'm flying through this book, it's exactly what I needed :)

I was really loving these two together but I fee like we're now entering toxic/unhealthy territory and I'm not sure how to feel about it. Natalia deeply needs to see a therapist and work on herself...

Hmm I don't think this book does a good job of being a standalone...and this is coming from someone who's read almost all the books in the series

They have incredible chemistry but lowkey they are both so problematic lol

Don't get me wrong, I like Andrea but two days into a brand new job--a job you moved far away for and desperately need--and you're talking back to your boss?? Even though I agree with what she's saying, it's wild for her to say it...first day on the job lol

The way this is incredibly slow burn...to the point of nearly nonexistent 😩

Honestly I admire Paige’s strength but if Warden weren’t the hero, she would’ve died like 2 chapters after she entered this new place. That level of recklessness she has makes her stupid. Brave but stupid won’t get you far if you don’t start changing…

This is the first time in a while that I started reading a book and become so obsessed with it that *hours* literally passed by and I’m honestly tempted to pull an all-nighter to finish 💖

Idk why I fooled myself into thinking it wouldn’t bother me that this is a widow and single father hero, that’s basically a double whammy of heroes I avoid in romance 😭

This book is so addictive I can already tell it’s going to be a fave ✨
