Omg. My heart. This goes so much deeper and pushes harder than Pestilence.

I've found a new favorite author! Very Laura Thalassa Pestilence but indepth and grittier. Having read the bleak post-apoc of Pestilence and the assassin gal he keeps captive, "grittier" seems funny to say. But in every way the blighted world of the land of the dead is scores more hellish and brutally grim than the world infected by a roaming Pestilence.

A return o right where we left off! I was wondering how the escalation to romance would happen, since Meg is so childlike. I needn't have worried. Bishop has all that wonderful angst and drama covered. I also love the fluttering and fawning and arguing over Meg. Truly...one of my favorite book series ever.

So many things! Not what I expected Sam to do to save her son's life and totally not the direction I expected her to go in. I wonder if she'll succeed and the medallion will work. It feels too easy but then again, the old dude won't get his two years otherwise. Kind of mad and sad about Kingsley being a douche. I want to like Fang but he's....just too perfect. And he wants that thing from her. Who is bow tie man?

Cat and Bones back at it! The problems seem so much more complex now, what with her being easily recognised and having frequent vamps on the team. But still bones and Cat make me swoon with him proposing and all. The greatest love story ever. Who were Max's friends? And nice to see her mom warming up. Thr vampire prejudice was starting to get old.

Really liked Merit as a character. Hated and loved Catcher and Mallory together. Mostly because I hated Ethan and wasn't interested at all in Morgan. Interesting mystery and I love Merit growing and learning. Very fun gal.

Abby is really dumb. I mean, I like Ion but he just seems really insincere and duplicitous. She had a bad contract before with a vampire and yet she's going full into this. I just don't respect her very much. And that was dumb, WoW in the middle of the fight with the daemons. Kind of cheesy and the tone change came out of nowhere. It was a bit of a ridiculous reason to let her go if the stakes are as high as claimed.

Dammit! Met Catcher in this section and had my hopes for him dashed in the same section. Not that I'm opposed to him being with Mallory, I guess. But after the gross Mr. Darcy crap Ethan pulled, I was kind of hoping Catcher was the preferred avenue in a love triangle. I hate how no one really explains anything to her. "Read the Canon." How about you stop expecting a 4 day old vamp to know your bullshit status quo?

Really fun and dark! Abby is annoyingly naive but interesting and Brystion is hot like lava! It is frustrating how little anyone will tell her. I thought she was supposed to be tstl but...she's not. Even her friends are keeping her in the dark. "You should ask the dishonest guy for answers not us. Oh, but by the way, we're depending upon you to keep things together here." What? ?! I'm eager to know the secrets!

Very nice! So, Ethan isn't exactly Barrons-like but the banter and his dominance are great. Merit is fun to follow and I like her friendship with Mal. Worldbuilding too is pretty good, the idea of public vampires and how that would really go.

I love Meg and Sam so much. Simon will be so pleased! I love the edgy cringe when Henry realized she cut herself. What does the vision mean?

Really great. Really hope mysterious island explanation isn't as dumb as Mermen. I really like Stephanie full of such attitude and Rook being grumpy with her. And then that kiss! Aw! What are the hallucinations? That shark one was scary! I wonder if she dream talks? Lol, the only way Rook will figure out what is going on is if he "breaks the rules" and sleeps with her.

Still cute. Sometimes I get exhausted by it. It feels very small. Yet info dumps and repeats scenarios. How many times does Marguerite have to get mad at them all? How many times do ALL the cousins and siblings have to interrupt a moment? For all their talking, it doesn't feel like Greg and Liss have any chemistry or anything in common. He seems scientifically curious mostly. Kind of a "man-woman" basic attraction.

Loving this. The reveal of Megs truth was exactly as yummy as hoped. And now the tension and drama around her cuts is a prolonged, dramatic pleasure. I love how protective Simon is, how helpful everyone is. And now, a mystery to engage along with Megs past. What does going to wolf mean?

Loving Meg as a sort of Pollyanna character, positive and sweet, affecting everyone around her. I love the guilty strain between her and Simon. So many misunderstandings and irony! It's yummy!

Another mystery island, except Stephanie is much more entertaining than Liv! XD omg, I bust a gut with her bitchy act! She's fantastic. And Mr. Rook seems like King, smooth and alluring, yet dangerous. I cannot wait to see what he has to say!

Really great! Omg! I adore Meg as a character. Everyone seems rather stiff around her but they're starting to take notice! And I cannot wait until Simon or somebody sees her scars. Delicious drama! Yes, please.

How delightfully cute! It suffers a little bit with an overabundance of characters - 6 cousins and 2 matriarchs + 2 main characters. And they all seem to need to be involved in every discussion and scene. Other than that, it's a really cute premise, titillating stuff, and everybody is likable yet flawed. Feels a bit hurried and sloppy but seems to go for the humor above the reason.

Hmmm! Very good set up so far! I like the AU history. I like both main characters POV, they're interesting people. I like the startings of a good hot-cold between them - Simon is mean and Meg is like "no." My fav so far is Joker though. How could it be? The charismatic coyote, lol.

Nope. Hardly any Hannibal. Very great book, though. Exactly like the movie, just more detailed. Can't help feel sorry for serious ole Will Graham. So adult, it hurts.

There are a bit of growing pains and clunkiness with Bones becoming part of Don's team and the big reveal and everything. But once he's in there, he has great chemistry with Cat's team. I loved Cat fighting with Annette and then the hotness of Bones with Cat to punish her.

Here's the juicy part of the book! McKenzie back with Kyol and learning all the truths! NOW she's really conflicted and troubled! This is great. I loved her discovery of things, Kyol still trying. It feels a lot like Moonburned in that way. I loved McKenzie saving Naito. Hopefully he'll get back to Keila and Aren in time. I always end the 1/4 at the perfect clffhangers!

I love Bones and Cat together again! It's believable how messed up Cat was about everything, how in the dark. And I love every moment of banter between these two. Whether in love or at odds, it is glorious fun! Who is trying to kill Cat?? Is it her mom? She doesn't seem smart enough. Whoever it is, I think Noah is involved. I've thought he was shady right from the start.

Reminds me so much of Under Different Stars. Like, part of me gets it, that McKenzie has no trust in these fae at all and HAS to believably try to escape every chance she gets. But at the same time, I get exhausted with each attempt. I just want her to stay still and be normal.

The infamous Freddie Lounds capture scene. Funny how little Lecter is in this. I think this part is building up the desperation. That Graham will need Lecter after this for sure in order to catch him.
