Entertaining and funny as usual. Just took me a while because I haven't been reading much lately. 

I liked that they weren't really bullying her anymore. And I'm relieved that there's an actual good reason that they protected Joey, but until it was revealed she questioned it way too little.

But the most crazy bonkers part is the FMC lusting after someone who poisoned her for fun. I like enemies to lovers, but this is so toxic and scary. Wth. And why the heck are we helping the crazed murderer? That made no sense. I don't know why I've picked up the 2nd book, but I already have. Wish me luck.

This book is both good and terrible. I guess it's maybe the writing that is good, but the story and tropes that are bad. All the illegal and graphic things going on in this book feel absolutely crazy because we're talking about young teens who have been in this life for a long time, and are somehow the most feared people in multiple towns.

And I couldn't see the appeal of her vampy love interest. He came across as weak, flighty, inconsiderate, and kinda gross. I think they were just trying to show her strengths and create drama for the plot, but... I couldn't remember why she's with him...

A good, urban fantasy, vampire/werewolf story. Reminiscent of some iconic stories from the past, and made me kind of nostalgic. Gritty and fun. I think alot happened though, it was a bit much.

Maybe it was the book more than the narrator, but the characters just felt a bit off from how I know them.

An enjoyable mystery and adventure. The daughter was kind of insufferable though. Not as funny as I usually find these. I listened to the audio for this one, and found that the narrator gave some of the characters different personalities than I did. Like, I know Zav is bossy and haughty, but I see him as more sly and playful than oblivious and controlling these days.
