2.25 ⭐️ - hmmm did not like this book as much as the 1st in the series; they seem to be getting worse and much darker (for my taste)

Ugh hate when main characters make dumb decisions or there’s conveniently forgotten facts 🙄

Dnf @ 28% - too many characters, and jumps back & forth between 2 timelines so it’s confusing. Read spoilers instead and I’m glad I didn’t push thru bc that ending sounds ridiculous

Strong start but it slowed down about halfway and now I’m struggling to keep reading

2.5⭐️ - rounding down; very middle of the road, opinion didn’t change as story progressed. There was potential for the topic of adults who are still virgins but the writing and plot were so mediocre and felt suited for YA audience

Terrible writing and editing, very repetitive and inconsistent timeline

Agree with the reviewers who compare this to YA; definitely overhyped

3.5⭐️ - kind of disappointed with the ending

Great start - love the writing, romance in the background of the space race 🛸 and maybe some time travel? Hmm

Dnf @ ch 2 - oh god the mom is so insufferable; can’t listen to it further

Ugh why is she so annoying and quick to believe the worst of mmc 🙄

Poorly written, cringy characters like they’re teenagers

Too formulaic; the emotional angst was missing so the betrayal seemed overblown

As always, I really like the author’s writing but this sequel isn’t as emotionally evocative as The Midnight Library

3.5⭐️ - I like the ending twist but the buildup was pretty heavy and the characters very unlikeable so it was easier to digest this book in small spurts rather than reading thru in one sitting

1⭐️ - the title and synopsis are like 5% of the plot, complete bait & switch. The final consequences were rushed

I hate stupid fmcs omfg her abusive marriage does not make her a sympathetic character given her dumb choices
