Tricia might be the most insufferable protagonist I've encountered in a while. The inner monologue is pure cringe.

This is a slog. The writing is amateurish and clunky. I don't understand the lack of story editing. Why does the first sentence of every chapter start with the POV character's name? There are a myriad of other ways to indicate POV. Now a cop is interviewing a child alone?! And the constant annoying references to "that night". This is becoming a hate read.

Struggling with this so far. Love the cover art, love the premise but the writing is very basic and unpolished. I'm not convinced this has been edited because we have gems like this:

"Teddy rolled his eyes. He hadn't meant to make the noise with his mouth, but it was loud enough to get Ben's attention."
That's quite an eye roll, sir.

Also Teddy's mum is an irrational homophobic twat so far.
