Oh yeah. It's been from the beginning, but I think it just got EXCELLENT.

Engaging and informative in equal measure, very good so far.

It's a bit slow—some of the "tangents," for lack of a better word, have a habit of going on longer than is effective, but I'm keeping in mind that it's still early in the book. As the plot and characters develop I expect that issue, if still present, won't seem as significant.

Regardless, the blunt connections of sex, machinery in many forms, and death/human fragility are engaging.

Holy shit this book is amazing. I can't wait to finish it and write a real, in-depth review.

It speaks volumes about a writer when they draw so much emotion from so few words and with such deftness and subtlety

It's still excellently written, but I admit the narrative is stagnating somewhat. I'm hoping it's just a brief lull though.

Not much to say far other than that I'm loving it, wow. Certainly dark, but still, such lush yet carefully chosen descriptions means Buehlman can create a sense of place and character and time with a carefully crafted sentence or two. Really, really enjoying it.
