I wanted to say thank you, especially to new-found friends and those who have followed my reviews this year, but also to those who have been 'mine' for longer.

I have been reading more than reviewing lately due to some fairly serious life issues, but for those of you who continued to engage and/or saw something you liked in my increasingly infrequent online scribblings, I am grateful. You're all silver linings. TY.

It's cold as fuck here, given the usual local climate, and no offense to esteemed authours in the M/M genre, but the last thing I want to read about is snow, or Christmas trees, or candy-canes. Although...hot chocalate? Maybe.

Feeling a little foolish. I've read so many books this year that I was looking for a sequel in the midst of all the seasonal madness and can't remember the title or author of book one. I was hoping y'all could help me.

Sci-fi alien, m/m romance with feline-like Avatar creatures. A scientist goes to a new planet to escape a failed relationship, meets a new species, mates, etc. after serious bio-changes. mpreg

I'm feeling this kid's pain, and honestly, the fact that he's a kid in pain pisses me the fuck off. Screw all of y'all. I react to pain with RAAAAAGE.

Putting the worthiness of this MCs story aside, I'm having IMMENSE trouble with the author's "voice".

It's pretentious, supercilious, and otherwise overly 'flowery'.

It's a book, not a 19th century gothic poem.

Love that. Don't love the clueless "straight" BFF schtick so far, but it makes sense and I like the denial UST. But the snark! The snark!

meh. I skimmed this one even though I hung on every word of the first two. I really, really loved Rafe and was looking forward to his story, I just didn't buy Chloe's "feelings" for HIM in this one. She struck me as opportunistic and self-serving. The only person giving anything up in this entire scenario was Rafe, and he gave everything while she gave nothing. Bummer.

I have to say, I hate this cover. The model looks about 12 yrs old. The blurb mentions what seems to be childhood [sexual] abuse so I think that makes it even more tasteless.

Why did I wait so long to pick this series back up? Why? This is page muthafuckin ONE!

I'm an asshole and I don't even regret it this time. So I read the middle and the end because, eee-yup. Asshole. I. Just. Couldn't. Take. The. Suspense. See? Asshole. And I don't care. Know why? Now I can relax, no trip-hammering heart, and enjoy the wild ride that is Alpha Team.

I am so confused by Clark's psych issues. I mean. He's kind of all over the place. The BDSM element (Dom or sub/sub or Dom ... or both?) is making it even more confusing and really, the same can be said for Daniel's character. Clark's character keeps reminding me of Hunter Dane from Adira August's Matchstick Men, etc. EXCEPT! Hunt's issues make sense to me and these came out 1st. It's good, but I'm flailing.

Dammit. I want to HEAR the music they're describing. My kryptonite. All ear and perfect pitch, but no talent lol.

I am already liking the flow here and I'm riding the feels. I've read this author before and remember enjoying the read, but I'd forgotten just how well I connect with the writing. Not sure why or what the technicalities are, but I'm already sucked in again. And I usually don't do the 'famous music artist' tropes because of the clichés and bullshit, but it doesn't seem to matter here so far. Yummy.

I haven't been too pumped about reading this one. Aiden grew on me, and I enjoyed the dynamics of his friendship with Hunter, the healing bond with his brother and the caring hidden by the front of assholism he puts on with Cole.

BUT! Jessie bores me. And I love an underdog, so that's saying something. Clearly his prior comments indicate abuse, and I usually have a soft spot for that. BUT! *sigh* Guess we'll see.

I am grounding myself like a teenager caught smoking. "Why?" you say. For the ubiquitous and otherwise unacceptable use of the words/phrases 'really' and 'kind of' and other qualifiers in recent reviews. Apparently I kind of have commitment problems. No absolutes!

Also I kind of, sort of, really have the attention span of a gnat with ADD on speed this week. Either that or nothing's holding my attention *pouts*.

A Better Man (The Men of Halfway House Book 1)

is a surprisingly sweet read. there's a lot of the good kind of UST, some pretty hot smexy times, a goldilocks level of angst and relatively relatable MCs.

a happy read for me.

So ... I keep putting this down. And coming back. I should have been done with this yesterday, but no. I love Sam. LOVE. Orlando's kind of, I don't know... weak(?) for my tastes but he's a good guy so I'm tolerating him. I love Faith's writing always in all ways. As such, I'm not sure if I'm flipping windows because it's not holding my interest, if I'm just flaky today, or if I'm subconsciously savoring. Hmm.

Mwahahahaha! Just forget it. Read this book even if you only do it for Chapter 8.

The walk-in shower at that place was big enough for six. After a few days of marathon shower sex sessions Ten was sick of farting peppermint from Ronan using the minty shampoo as lube. The waterproof and fragrance-free lube they’d found at the local Walgreens really did the trick. Best of all, his farts went back to smelling like farts.

So ... how bout Audible now has a "Romance Package" It's like KU fir Audible Romance books where you can binge listen. If you already have a subscription it's $6.95 per month more.

Ugh. The religion. Apparently I'm a prejudiced asshole. I think I'm too close to this whole thing. Hard to be objective when people you know fucking died over there for nothing.

I like the banter. It's witty and quick, but stays easy-natured. Makes me feel like I'm in the room watching them go back and forth. Like I'm in on an inside joke. Pretty awesome. Love NR Walker.
