this one made me feel too many things too intensily, so i had to put it down for now. hoping 2026 is the year i go back to reading books that move me deeply on the emotional level without feeling like throwing salt on an open wound.

JHR hardly misses for me, and this seemed like another winner. while i still like it, i haven't been *enjoying* it because i keep finding myself incredibly frustrated by Sev and Nate and their treatment of Teddy. Eerily similar with how i felt reading If Only You by Chloe Liese. it's taking me a bit longer to read it because i can only do short bursts, but i think i'll get there. curious to see on what side it lands.

started this series in 2019 and wanted to freshen my memory with a quick reread before catching up with the more recent installments. tought it was also a nice chance to listen to the audiobook, since i originally read the ebook. the graphic audio has great narrators, but the constant music is driving me a little bonkers - i might just be too autistic for it. it wouldn't be so bad if it was just lower in volume.

ngl i'm having a hard time with Luca's inner monologue. i keep telling myself he's a writer. a journalist. of course his prose is flowery... but my eyes won't seem to listen, they keep rolling back every chapter. TT

every time I reread this I remember how much I love Bryce and Nick, but more so how much I L O A T H E, both their mothers.

Sanderson introducing this book by describing 'Sixth of The Dusk' a "a piece of short fiction most of your readers (probably) haven't read" is kind of heartbreaking to me. it makes me so sad that people read the cosmere without all the pieces of the puzzle that are available to us and just focus on the flashy titles. but that's likely just the 'tism speaking.

now he's slut shaming men and people who approach sex differently than he does. i really thought i was going to like Mary Calmes, but this is my second try and it's not looking good...
