It's amazing how much I hate every character in this book.

You can't set a book in a time period in which a man was well within his rights to beat and rape his wife, and then call it a romance. There is nothing romantic about this book.

This writing style is flat and uninteresting, and so are all of the characters. And I know that Lakshmi is beautiful. You don't have to remind me of that fact on every single page.

Good lord, Lakshmi is such a Mary Sue. Is there anything interesting about this character?

After Tumblr, GR is suddenly very bright and open and I'm slightly scared. Also, I should probably read a few real books so they won't take away my membership card.

On the off chance that anyone has wondered where I've been, fandoms have swallowed me whole like Jonah's whale and haven't seen fit to spit me out again yet.

The Catholic angst is already getting on my nerves in a big way. Someone please tell me that Father Mike's name stops popping up every page, because it's squicking me out.

I might have to break my no-DNFs rule for this book. Everything about it is grating on my nerves.

If I can't comment on a GR friend's status updates, is it due to a setting that the friend has in place, or is it a GR glitch?

This is reminding me of why I don't read books with children in them. I don't caaaare about little Jordan's mommy issues. And could Asa possibly be more boring? I'm glad he's a great dad, but does he have any other selling points?

Turns out I can write poetry while tipsy, but not prose. Wonder why that is.

I'm failing at choosing a new profile pic. I keep selecting pictures without enough contrast to look good in miniature.

This is still a slog for me. I'm still not feeling any connection to the characters, and I have no interest in the plot or world building.

If I were going to do the author thing regularly, I think I would need to set aside several hours a day to spend in the shower. I have all my mental breakthroughs in there.

This writing stuff is hard. I don't know why anyone does it.

The heroine is a cop, and I think I'm supposed to respect her or something. It would be easier if the author didn't mention her tits at least twice per page.

I've just read the first paragraph of this book and I'm already laughing, because seriously, this is right out of a teen slasher trailer:

"Sometimes terrible things happen in the middle of the night. Sometimes the monster under the bed is real. Sometimes there truly is a bogeyman hiding in the closet. Sometimes people die."

So, am I supposed to take this book seriously now?

So, I'm still drowning in Frostiron fic over here, and I might come up for air by Christmas (maybe not), but meanwhile, I have a question. Why is Agent Coulson alive in ALL of these fics? Seriously, his death is like the one thing that adds a little depth to an otherwise splody summer flick. Why change that?

I keep reading fan fic to escape from the books that I used to read to escape from reality. What is the next level of escapism after fan fic?

WAAAHH! Tony just died in this Loki/Tony fic! You can't kill Iron Man! ;_;

Hmm. Don't know what to think yet.

Let's find a way to forcibly draw our members' eyes away from all those pesky book covers and profile pics. Oh! I know! Lime green buttons! Genius.
