My quixotic quest to read this 17th-century novel continues apace, aided by the fabulous narration of Tim Pabon and the readable translation of John Rutherford for Penguin Classics. The book is funny, sweeping, and surprisingly fast-paced, although with many side stories from characters such as goatherds, Moors, Catholics, and galley slaves. Quixote is an absolute madman, although more amusing than threatening.
