B2 If I were to describe Chiune Sugihara in three words, it would be steadfast, quirky, and intelligent. He is steadfast because when he was in school, he was adamant on becoming a teacher despite his father stubbornly wanting him to be a doctor, quirky because he takes notes with a pen tied to an ink container on his ear, and intelligent since he was able to learn at least 4 European languages when moving to Russia.

D4 I believe the author didn't develop the characters well as of yet. The protagonist, Greta, appears to have little to no flaws, so there isn't room for her to develop. She also seems to be very flat in personality. As demonstrated by her dialogue and 'normal' responses to a tragic event, Greta has a typical "Mary Sue" archetype where she aways does the right thing. Flat characters distract from the fun of the book.

G3 The setting is unique and important to this story, because it takes place in the ocean. The most obvious difference is all of the characters are underwater creatures; the protagonist is a mermaid, and her pet is an octopus. The other difference is the language. In the prologue, a village elder is shown to be speaking another language, an example being, "'Vino, un rau."

C2 The character I admire most would have to be the protagonist, Rudy. His new friend, Deck, summarized the Big Three (three ethics) in this chapter, "Fight for your client, don't steal, try not to lie." Even while facing all the corruption and as he meets other lawyers or lawyers to be, Rudy still sticks to his three ethics throughout the novel.

C4 The most memorable moment in the story is when masses of people of all jobs, races, and beliefs are protesting against the first character introduced to the story, a ninety-one-year old supreme court justice. "... Christians, abortion activists, Aryans, Nazis, atheists..." were "a massive sea of protest." The detailed description of many people rioting against one old man right away in the novel stuck in my head.

F4 This story makes me feel more understanding of the difficult times of cotton farming without modern technology. The setting is the U.S. in 1952. The cast is picking cotton by hand and stuffing them into their sacks. The narrator describes the "...the sun was baking us," and "...five endless days of overwhelming heat." Reading this makes me more thankful for the technology of today.

B2 Luke is the protagonist and narrator of the novel. He is young, mature, and fairly educated for his age. The book states he is seven years old and his choice of words are mature such as "a sufficient distance from our house" and "men who embraced pessimism." This shows he is either smart for 7 years or he is speaking from the future. In other ways, however, he matured after the hard work of being a cotton farmer.

F2 Eragon is ready to leave for Du Weldenvarden on his journey to defeat Galbatorix. I would probably not read another book by Christopher Paolini because his style is very lengthy; sometimes his long descriptions are refreshing and other times it's unnecessary. One time, Eragon "...plucked a tooth, a molar, from the dirt. Bouncing it from his palm..." Segments such as that add no significance to the story.

G1 - The novel picks up directly from the last book; the war is over and bodies of both soldiers and urgals cover the field. The leader of the underground society, Ajihad (a minor character), had fallen. The author makes you feel like a part of the story describing the current setting using all of the senses like smell or sight, explains ancient language used in the book, and briefly describes the world's politics.
