This book… this effing book. She will be his “the one that got away”. She will haunt him. He will be “the one she stuck around too long for/gave too many chances to”. The one all others pale in comparison to. I know they shouldn’t be together… (but still want them to? Somehow… it can all magically work out? Right??) I am not okay. 😣

He holds all the power. She knows it. He knows it… this won’t end well for her 😞 And the worst part? Their chemistry is OFF the charts. They are perfect for each other. They GET each other… but… insecurities… destructive coping mechanisms… life… 😔

FMC has anxious-attachment style and MMC is avoidant… but like moth to a flame… oh, blu 🥲

What is this book?? Who is this author?? Characters are written in such a unique way… so layered… their insecurities laid bare mercilessly… And yet… it makes them all the more painfully relatable. Truly impressed.

I feel like this book is going to break my heart and crush my spirit… 😥 (the precise reason why i picked it up… why am i like that 😅)

Are we talking haunting? Mental breakdown/hallucinations? Or elaborate con… so many questions!! 🤔 and… what’s with the coin?? 🪙🧐

5% in and I’m already trying to guess the twist 😅 very strong start. Already super into it…. Do we have a case of an unreliable narrator? 🧐 I’m intrigued…

This is easily among the books I’ve most enjoyed reading in a while. Also completely under the spell of Ms. Gillig’s writing style. 💜🖤

I’m loving the short rhymes at the beginning of each chapter, with one sentence repeating, every time.. they are hypnotic as they are intriguing…

oh.. and we just met Ravyn 👀😌🤭

Already hooked! Love the writing, the setting, the world building over all. Isn’t the best feeling when you start a book and get into it right away? Plus it’s a gloomy day. Perfect. 😏🖤🏰☁️

Ugh.... The harder the narrative pushes for Keenan as "the good guy" (an ADULT who "fell" for a RANDOM CHILD mind you...) the more I'm doubling down in my (yes, morally blind) love of Shay :s (I know, I know... it's messed up lol)

It's just.. the way Mina is responding to Shay... it's making me uneasy... she clearly doesn't love him like I do...LOL :(

Her and her stupid Keenan. lol
