Finished part 2. The dialogue between Kubi Takeo and Mrs Tsuda was the highlight for me. Compared to the first part, the tone feels a bit more ironic and comical. When I think about the clock with the Chinese zodiac on it in part 1, time seems to be something important in this novel. The descriptions seem to focus on the minutiae of particular moments that it feels like time in here is operating at microscopic scale.
