I. hate. time. jumps.
I feel like I’ve been reading this book forever and I’m not even half way thereeeee. It’s not terrible but it’s not great by any means.

I am not impressed. Everything feels so... flat.

I just finished book 2 in this 3 book set and that’s enough insanity for now. I need a break.

*crosses fingers and whispers* “please be good, please be good, please be good”

Bored. I’m bored. Blah.

I need a win y'all. Like knock-you-on-your-ass, give you a book hangover win. Give me a recommendation!

Chapter one done and I have no idea what’s going on.

I need a good alien read. I need off this crazy planet for awhile.

This is not your typical kindle unlimited read. No disrespect, but most KU reads books are on the short end and are fairly trope-y and predictable. And I read them because A) I’m poor and B) they’re my guilty pleasure to not think and just enjoy. This sucker is 462 pages long and a pretty unique concept.

So... I bought the printed, physical copies of this entire series (which I never do-I’m usually an ebook person because it’s so much cheaper) and what do I do? I dropped it in the sink. with the faucet running. So this mammoth 650+ page book that was already fat and awkward, is now even more fat and awkward because the warped pages. This is why you can’t have nice things, Jill.

THIS WRITING. I love it. I’m already loving this man!! The wolf. Lawd.

I’m not sure how a book can be both slow AND hard to follow but so far this book is achieving it. I’m not giving up yet but I really need this thing to turn around. ASAP.

Lots of world building. I’m trying to keep up but my brain is scrambling.

It’s not bad, just underwhelming. If I put my kindle down and it somehow glitched & deleted this book, I probably wouldn’t notice when I picked it back up.

I was unprepared for the main character having an addiction issue.... I don’t like Lily as much as I thought I would. Her character isn’t exactly in line with what it was in previous books.

I’ve been so excited for Lily’s story! I’ve had to physically restrain myself from looking at and reading the summary for the next book (book 4) because I’m so curious. Since there are only 3 sisters..... or ARE there?? Who could book 4 be? So far I haven’t caved to curiosity or temptation.

A bit annoyed because Book 1 in the series was not on kindle unlimited, but it WAS free on the nook app. And Book 2 was $4.99 on the nook app and $2.99 on kindle.... I hate having my series on different apps.

Surprisingly good. I’m excited to review this one. I feel like I’ve got a lot to say!

Very strong start, but it is getting a bit slow for me. I do have to say I really love the h’s quick wit. She balances it well without being obnoxiously snotty like some female main characters are written.

I got halfway through reading the book summary and I was already downloading it. I am READYYYY.

“We’re all jumpy, tensing at every sound even as we peer into the dark forest, keeping an eye out for beasties.”

........ “beasties”??? (silently judging hard while I’m sipping my beer) I know the main character is a kindergarten teacher but come on.

I need a home run on my next book. Can anyone give me their all time favorite book/author/series? Or their favorite book(s) of 2020 so far? I will reciprocate with mine!

This started off prettyyy strong... but I’m getting bored. And the main character is starting to annoy the ever living hell outta me.

This book is not on Kindle Unlimited, but it IS a free Nook book through Barnes & Noble. If you don’t own a Nook, they have an app. Only bummer is that the Nook & Goodreads apps aren’t compatible to sync soo no automatically sharing highlights and notes (first world problems). But so far I’m loving this book. Especially our anti-hero.
