I love a good rivalry and so far Campbell and Mattie have the chemistry I want in a book like this. I can't wait to see who Campbell really is vs Mattie's depiction of him due to her insecurities surrounding his success vs hers (at at what she thinks is her expense).

The grumpy rugby player safety stalked our sunshine-y american matchmaker...didn't see that one coming.

He's cocky and knows what he wants, she's stubborn and fearful of the past..(oh and she has a douchey bf) - now they are forced together - I wonder what is going to happen ;)

Interesting set up for this world and our character(s) so far.

...man, book 2 just hasn't kept my attention. The set up from 1 was so good, but then I was quickly able to figure out a few things that I think would have made this second book more impactful - instead I have just been waiting for each thing to happen..and the last bit of this is dragging...

Excuse me, I adore Bennett (his father, and his best mate Rhys) and already feel for Paloma which is saying a lot based on my opinion of her from previous books.

So much world building but finally feeling a little more connected to the characters

Shifting from romance to this type of story takes me awhile to adjust. So far, enjoying the writing, the world feels a little complex but the more insight shared - the more pieces are coming together.

One thing I absolutely love about starting a new series from CC is the fact that I get to meet a new family and community, and Starlight Grove has already won me over (plus I have been DYING for a Dex story). I also absolutely have LOVED the easter eggs from previous series and even a Wild Side wrestling reference :)

I am struggling a bit with this...the FMC is dull and the dialogue/interactions with Smyth feel forced and awkward...despite me being pretty sure I know a thing or two about our dear, fragile, Ella...
