I think I need more Aristotle or something to really understand this but the parts I am understanding are profound.

Wow this is actually making me grasp the "Force and Understanding" section. Its a miracle. This might be the best commentary in english.

I might actually prefer the Pinkard translation. There have been a few key passages that I have been able to understand with this edition which were borderline incomprehensible to me with the Miller version.

I don't know if it's because my brain is just totally melted from trying to understand Hegel and now it makes sense or if Adorno just really understands the subject, but this to me is the clearest presentation of Hegel's ideas that I have come across. Completely lucid and gets to the heart of the matter. There's something beautiful and dare I say moving about seeing these ideas so precisely conveyed.

despite the extremely hyperbolic and fantastical nature of the narrative (if you can call it that), i think this actually functions as a rather profound meta commentary on and re-interpretation of the whole buddhist tradition. but i imagine if you approached this book with no prior knowledge, it would be extremely alienating or just boring.

second or third attempt at reading this and its finally making sense. mind blowing stuff in here. although some of it seems to conflict with the tathagatagarbha sutras but I guess that is highly dependent on your interpretation and prioritization.

". . . it is his essence to be pregnant with all things and to make them. As it is impossible for anything to be produced without a maker, so also is it impossible for this maker not to exist always unless he is making everything . . . in every part of the cosmos, in every part of the universe, in what is and in what is not. For there is nothing in all the cosmos that he is not."
