Consists of 3 parts - liked the first part best. I personally thought it was a shame some storylines were not developed in the latter parts, to experiment with the unwarranted murder mystery plot in my opinion. Really solid writing carried the book through - you can sense there’s a crafty novelist behind the pages.

Felt good to read a physical Bangla book after many years.

Yup, reading another self-help book. Sue me.

Just started on this one - promising listen so far. The premise of the book as I understand is political instability plays a major role in economic instability of a country. Probably not news to anyone. Liking the history lesson on colonization of the americas in Chapter 1.

Very interesting coverage but definitely a slow burn.

Easy to listen to this one. Enjoyed so far. Dude is a good storyteller, not surprisingly.

Just re-read the story “noshtonir”, read it as a teen and watched the masterful adaptation by S Roy on celluloid. This felt like an autobiographical piece (once again), and a psychological novella. Must have been very hard for him to write about this part of his life I imagine. Would love to learn more about the background from fellow readers.

An honest account of life from a deeply flawed man. Can see the makings of the Tony from Parts Unknown. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ so far.

Spoiler alert:

Never realized Achilles was homosexual from the movie or the translated stories. Anyhoo, things are heating up between Patroclus and Achilles. Something (?) tells me there’s not gonna be a happy ending in this one - writing is still crisp and beautiful.

Solid so far. Writing seems to be fresh.
