Will it ever end 😩

Why can't dead characters ever stay dead? I hate this rewritten history stuff and how long it's being dragged out. It's annoying, confusing, and boring at the same time bc no plot is happening.

This is Legends & Lattes all over again - same premise, same excruciatingly slow pacing with no plot to speak of. This is just not my kind of book. I'm only pushing through this bc I'm reading it for a challenge.

Why won't this book end 😭 I've been picking it up for weeks now and still so far to go

This is one of those ‘lost young white woman looking for meaning/ happiness/fulfilment attaches herself to an older/successful/worldly man in hopes for guidance’ books that usually don’t work for me at all because I look down on people who don’t have real problems despite a little early-adulthood existential crisis with contempt. I should hate it - but I dont! I love the writing, it's witty, endearing, and eloquent

And what is this bullshit about "excuses"? You think now that you successfully "fixed" him he'll be your good little fuckbuddy again and roll over whenever you feel like gracing him with your affection? That's so fucked up. I hate this guy.

“You know I’d do anything for you, right?” he asked, his voice low, his joking tone gone. “I do.” “You know I love you.” “I know.” In his own way, it was probably true. “No more excuses, Jason. Come to bed with me. Please.”
You're such a crass disgusting asshole. Last night he told you repeatedly he didn't want to sleep with you, this morning he broke down in your arms, now you're trying to get in his pants AGAIN.

I adore this story, it has so much heart, the MCs are so very human (in the best way) and I relish every minute I get to spend with them in this unique story world =3 The author strikes the perfect balance between humorous writing and also tackling serious subjects with a lot of tenderness and kindness. It makes me feel all warm and soft inside

I found this book by chance and I'm so glad I gave it a try. It's adorable, witty, very well-written, and like nothing I've read before.

“I’m going to kill her, and Miss Preston, and the mayor, all of them. I’m going to gut them like fish and use them as shambler bait. Then I’m going to burn both the school and the mayor’s house to the ground and dance upon the ashes.” “That’s good, Jane. It’s good to have goals.” lol

Finally I can listen to this on audio 🎧❤️

Keira Andrews released all her holiday romances on audio this year. This makes me so happy because there's a distinct lack of xmas books that are available in that format.

Now I simply must re-read this novella, even if I've read it three times already, especially as it's narrated by the wonderful Greg Boudreaux 😍

female rabbits have entered the scene but they remain silent. The male characters talk while the females just sit there, existing. Not a single word has been uttered by a female character in 6 hours of the audiobook, I kid you not

This book is not passing the Bechdel test. A dozen characters, all male. Not even a mention of a "she." wtf
And to think Adams made up this story to tell to his daughters.

The novelty of the great writing has worn off and I'm mostly annoyed now, especially with Alex's grandfather, who is grumpy, selfish, inconsiderate, and gets way too much page time. Alex is getting on my nerves as well, his conversations with Jonathan are so dumb and long and frustrating. I'm strangely invested in the side characters, though, mostly the people who live in Trochembrod during the Brod storyline.

The way everyone is laying into Paddy right now I almost feel sorry for the old bigot. And that's coming from someone who was firmly team "just let him die on that mountain" in the previous book, and team "should have let him die on that mountain" in this one.

I went into this completely blind. The writing is brilliant but I have no idea wtf I am reading 🥴

This is one of few YA books that left a lasting impression on me. Let's see if it holds up 5 years later 🤞🏻
