This is one of those ‘lost young white woman looking for meaning/ happiness/fulfilment attaches herself to an older/successful/worldly man in hopes for guidance’ books that usually don’t work for me at all because I look down on people who don’t have real problems despite a little early-adulthood existential crisis with contempt. I should hate it - but I dont! I love the writing, it's witty, endearing, and eloquent

And what is this bullshit about "excuses"? You think now that you successfully "fixed" him he'll be your good little fuckbuddy again and roll over whenever you feel like gracing him with your affection? That's so fucked up. I hate this guy.

I adore this story, it has so much heart, the MCs are so very human (in the best way) and I relish every minute I get to spend with them in this unique story world =3 The author strikes the perfect balance between humorous writing and also tackling serious subjects with a lot of tenderness and kindness. It makes me feel all warm and soft inside

I found this book by chance and I'm so glad I gave it a try. It's adorable, witty, very well-written, and like nothing I've read before.

Keira Andrews released all her holiday romances on audio this year. This makes me so happy because there's a distinct lack of xmas books that are available in that format.

Now I simply must re-read this novella, even if I've read it three times already, especially as it's narrated by the wonderful Greg Boudreaux 😍

female rabbits have entered the scene but they remain silent. The male characters talk while the females just sit there, existing. Not a single word has been uttered by a female character in 6 hours of the audiobook, I kid you not

This book is not passing the Bechdel test. A dozen characters, all male. Not even a mention of a "she." wtf
And to think Adams made up this story to tell to his daughters.

The novelty of the great writing has worn off and I'm mostly annoyed now, especially with Alex's grandfather, who is grumpy, selfish, inconsiderate, and gets way too much page time. Alex is getting on my nerves as well, his conversations with Jonathan are so dumb and long and frustrating. I'm strangely invested in the side characters, though, mostly the people who live in Trochembrod during the Brod storyline.

The way everyone is laying into Paddy right now I almost feel sorry for the old bigot. And that's coming from someone who was firmly team "just let him die on that mountain" in the previous book, and team "should have let him die on that mountain" in this one.

I went into this completely blind. The writing is brilliant but I have no idea wtf I am reading 🥴

This is one of few YA books that left a lasting impression on me. Let's see if it holds up 5 years later 🤞🏻

I'm a misanthrope who believes that the majority of humans are inherently selfish, cruel, and devoid of compassion. Some individuals are born kind, sure, but they are the exception. A good friend challenged me to read this book thinking it would change my mind, as it did hers. I'm curious to learn what the author has to offer.

bummed to say that this is super boring so far. The characters are dull, the love interests have zero chemistry, the chapters are much too wordy with almost no content, and the audio narrator doesn't help either with his performance being stilted and characterless

I picked up this book bc I thought it was queer, what with the titular character being queer. But so far it's mainly about the people around Vivek, his parents, aunt and uncle, his mother's friend circle and their children, all of whom are straight. Ergo this book is like all the other straight books: selfish toxic men, abusive cheating husbands, emotionally unavailable absent fathers. I'm sick of all of this.

3/3 AND STILL women allow those kinds of men around their children. WHY!!!???!?!!! Fuck men! You don't need them! They only bring you sorrow and pain, abuse and trauma, and for what?? Get a good vibrator and save yourself the useless violent meatsack attached to the dick you seem to crave so much!
