Halfway Review:

Started this book for a book club, and honestly would have stopped reading somewhere between pages 50-100 if I didn’t commit to it. The chemistry is all tell at first, within the first 2 chapters. Insta-love but in a manufactured way. The writing is also very repetitive and feels like there was no professional developmental editing done. Both backstories were shared too soon, so no suspense.

Disappointed by the event that takes place halfway through the book. I understand the world in which this takes place, and maybe I’m too romantic, but I couldn’t come back from that, although I tried. Unfortunately, I’m disappointed because I was really enjoying the book and the characters.
