Reminding me of the times spent with Celena in the vibrant metropolis that is New York.

Never really got into this book the way I intended. It has been returned so I will seek it out again another time. 😏

Back into it and enjoying the ride. Her grandmother - Momma - is a treasure.

Finding I am deeply moved by the challenges faced by African Americans. And the story of her abuse by Mr Freeman - so confronting and also much too common.

Already enthralled by the glimpses behind the scenes, of a presidency that I admired and appreciated from afar.

A funny anecdote about being in church with her brother, as young children. Gold!

This is becoming quite gripping.

A captivating read, as the mystery of what has happened to the ‘servant girl’ unfolds. This story kept me company on the journey through the Bathurst Diocese, for Catholic Mission work, on March 7-9, 2022.

An intriguing read. Chosen from a selection of books nominated by my wife, Celena, this story has a captivating premise: who was Alice in Wonderland before she tumbled down the rabbit hole? This is the story of the young girl who inspired the story and was almost muse-like to the man that became Lewis Carroll, namely Mr Dodgson.

Chapter 3, The Highlanders. Engrossing. Read in Mum & Dad’s library room.

This book is narrated by a woman with a lovely texture and timbre in her voice. I am enjoying having it on in the car, letting her soothing tones enfold me as I drive.

Back into it. Read a few pages to Lisa, before we broke up. Continuing to read it as part of ‘lockdown’ and a lazy ‘lie-in’ on a chilly Sunday morning
