No emotion- terrible narration of finding out a best friend has died
Narrator is not convincing- as much as I say I’m going to quit Frieda, her books are so quick and easy to read. Something I can put down and not have to remember much due to her surface writing—-twists that are more common to be predictable but,

“I stepped over her body”- I don’t know, foreshadowing maybe? If I’m stepping over somebody I would just say I stepped over someone I wouldn’t say I stepped over their body unless I knew that they were dead. Again, another example of poor writing I stepped over so because they were laying on the floor, I stepped over a body a body sounds like they’re dead
