I loved the last chapter with the bit of history of her village. It's strange because history almost always bores me, but reading it with her voice in my head... the fact that the book starts off with a smile-worthy prologue and the first chapter describing the day she got shot, made it so much easier to read. I couldn't try to read it in any other voice. Chapter 2 - on to her father :)

'When her father called, my father cried. "Tell me how can one live without daughters," he sobbed.'
Such a powerful chapter I read on the way home, and it was a struggle to hold my tears back. It's hard to imagine what her family's gone through, and what many families are still going through even now.

At the end of each chapter she goes back and refers to something that connects back to the introduction. It makes me smile.
