I've been wondering what's stopping to fully immerse in McLemore's books and I believe to have grasped it: McLemore just has no chill at all. There aren't sentences where things are simply easy, funny or just happening; no, every word has to have depth(TM), meaning (TM) and magical imagery (TM) and to constantly deal with that while reading is exhausting.
