This is the first book in a long time that made me FEEL something. It's definitely a slow burn, but the love is so genuine. It put me right back to being a 16 year old messed up kid again.

Ngl it feels a little like a Justin Bieber fan fiction from my Wattpad days. The banter is cute even if "Shannon like the river" is highly overused.

I was not expecting Irish Shameless! This book has some heavy content, and I was not prepared for the emotional shitstorm that would surface. I relate a little too much to Shannon and Joey.

Johnny protects her so fiercely. Realistically, he would be in so much trouble for the stunts he pulled, but I'm putting it aside because I LOVE a Doberman man.

So far it's cute. Still feeling weird picturing a 15 and 17 year old tho. Maybe I can't do high school YA anymore.

Ooooof 1 chapter in and my heart already hurts. Having an older brother fight your battles? Abusive alcoholic dad and a mom trying to hold the family together? Sounds like high school to me!
