FINALLY!

5-star read.

Finally, they’re living the domestic bliss life they envisioned back in the 50s but Alice is seeing someone else and they have all this baggage they need to sort through.

I’m rooting for these women so bad.

I’m just glad we’re getting into the second chance of it all.

You can smell this book. It smells of burning cigarettes, brown liquor and sex. Every page has a reference to two or all of these. It feels uncomfortable and claustrophobic to build a forbidden romance in the middle of it and then to add on an infant. I’m exhausted with the smells.

Haven’t enjoyed a book in ages. Maybe I’m not in a reading slump. I’m sick of what I’m reading and I need something else to intrigue me. This is such a wonderful story.
