When Wentworth arrives in Bath and runs into Anne without expecting to see her and he’s so honestly struck and flustered by her for the first time after faking being indifferent for months. Urgh! I know the girls in 1817 were going crazy.

I wish there was more yearning (from Wentworth) in the first half of this book. I just spend all my time feeling sad for Anne.

You can’t help but get the feeling that in 27 years of life no one has ever truly loved Anne beyond Wentworth. She’s so starved of genuine love. So unknown by those around her. Despite how understandable Wentworth’s resentments are, I find myself spending the whole novel furious with him for taking his love away from someone who so desperately needs it.

How I feel for Anne when Wentworth’s name is first said. I welled up for her.
