the book report on ansky was making me lol. unrealistic that she could get into nyu's jewish studies MA for folklore while being monolingual imo but who am i to criticize this beautiful wish-fulfillment novel

super disappointed in this book so far :( the plot all feels like it's happening TO the characters rather than the characters driving the plot forward, which i really dislike especially in a book that is entirely about characters. also omfg so much non-fiction infodumping. we get it you did a lot of research but p boring to kind of just relay that info to the audience in such a dry way

man idk if it's me or what but i'm also not really enjoying this book either :/ the prose isn't hitting for me and the characters aren't that interesting or unique to me. but i like the mystery so i shall keep reading
