Love me a man of action.

“Because we both needed a break from the situation. Not from any one of you but the situation itself. Us, being angry won’t help our matters. Being angry in a disagreement never works. Your Mother and I need to cool down before we say something that wouldn’t be true. You know this isn’t your fault, okay?”

Go dame. 5 stars. I loved how realistic this book was. How every relationship mattered and tied back to create our characters. I also loved Grace’s parents. It’s not often u read a book where the world is set in a polygamy setting and the parents are still alive and are polyamorous. That was refreshing. I’ll probably read the next book. Like tomorrow.

I think new circle members are revealed when all current members touch. Like if Apollo and Grace touched Dylan at the same time? I’m not giving up on Dylan and Vincent being circle member. I’m still not sure about Kai but he appears enough for it to be a possibility.

I bet Apollo was with Vincent.

He casually smoked as people came over to us,Lucas happily soaked in the attention. He was like a king as people came to him with a type of adoration, each knowing Lucas, each congratulating us drunkenly on finding each other.

Ah. Lucas’s fathers were over come with grief at the loss of 2 circle members and a child that they neglected the children they still had. And the environment said children lived in. By the time they snapped out of their grief they witnessed everything and decided the problem was too big to handle. Now all they do is provide financially.

So many questions were waiting for me to ask. Why a koi fish? Did that hold meaning? And why was he hiding it?
“Did you get that new pain you were longing for?” It felt unnerving asking that question. I didn’t want him to be in pain at all.
“Not really, I was still recovering, and my leg was useless at the time. But there were some moments I treasured.

Oh yah I’m going with my theory on Grace being the heart of the circle meaning people only recognize each as being part of the circle once they touch Grace. That’s why Dylan was sad when he found on Grace and Apollo were in the same circle. Because Dylan had obviously touch Apollo and felt nothing.

I focused on the sheet trying to ignore my guilt at feeling that way. My hand shook as I put the information correctly. Apollo was quick and had already finished before he shifted behind me. I could feel his heat and the shift of my hair as he breathed in and out. I felt the tug of my soul. It rippled with attention.
It felt like he was dancing with it. Wild and untamed, that’s what his soul did to me.

“Fucking tap that pencil again, I dare you!” Apollo shouted as he pointed at Carson with aggression, making some of the other students struggle to hold both of them back. Carson pulled against the various hands as he came back with his own curses.
“You are fucking crazy, man!” He shouted as he rubbed away blood from his eyebrow that was starting to swell.

Not to sure about Kai being part of the circle now.

The first break came quickly. We were all hanging out in the cafeteria before Julia jumped in one of the spare seats at our table that we were sitting around.
“Transfers! End of next month, it’s been confirmed!” Julia said to Kristina and Hannah.

Apollo/ Lucas’s mom probably died on his birthday or giving birth to him or saving him.

And he created a new persona to hide his grief.

average human “Okay,” I understood, but it didn’t mean I liked it.
We quickly said our goodbyes before Daddy called me for dinner.
“How was Da?” Daddy asked softly when I sat down at the table. Like, Mother, Daddy was taking this separation to heart. From what they told me, Da found Daddy first, and both had been by each other since.
“He sounded exhausted,” I said honestly, looking around the table everyone was picking at their food. Father glared at the wall as a thick silence that was starting to become normal overcame the table. My eyes glanced at Mother. She wasn’t managing well from her eyes, they looked dull from lack of sleep. Papa swallowed tightly as he pushed his food around by his fork.
A family in ruin.
“Right,” Father slapped the table, his dinner now finished. “This is enough.” Father addressed as he stood up from the dinner table. He slackened his tie from his neck as he gave a soft stroke on Mother’s shoulders, giving her a look that looked close to comfort. “We can’t keep going on like this. We have to go get him.”
“What?” Mother looked agape at Father as he pulled her up from her chair.
“I’m sick of this happening. I expect us to relax here in our home, not this. Get your shoes and coat. We are dragging his sorry ass back home, where he belongs.”
“He needs space,” Mother sputtered in a half reluctant manner, but she did quickly go to fetch her coat in a dash.
“He will get space once we are all dead.” Father huffed as he rolled his sleeves up his arms like he was gearing up for war. “He is part of this family, and I won’t allow him to run off again.”
Again? I thought with confusion. Had Da done this before?
Looking at Papa and Daddy, they both wore amused hidden smiles on their faces, but none of them got up to follow Father and Mother out the door.
“About time he did something.” Papa uttered under his breath as he collected our dishes knowing we couldn’t eat the rest.
“Is Da going to come back?”
“With your Father in this mood, he will if he knows what’s good for him.” Papa grinned with a glint of playfulness that had been missing for the last few days.
I didn’t know what to think. Father seemed to know what to do, but Da’s talk about needing some time alone was in my mind. Would they get into another heated fight but with Father joining in this time? Father and Da often clashed a lot but had a type of understanding with their opposite personalities.
As the hours rolled on, my hope of Da returning dampened. Papa and Daddy didn’t seem to see my disappointment as they grew more cheerful by the minute. They certainly weren’t worried about Da not coming home. On the contrary, it seemed like they were expecting him any second.
My phone exploded with many texts from Julia. She had been hounding me, asking me to go out with her tomorrow night. All through the week, I had been avoiding this one topic, but Julia seemed to have other ideas.
Julia: You coming to the party???
Me: I might be busy.
Busy was the closest word I could agree upon. Could I go to a party if my family was breaking apart? No, it didn’t feel right to do such a thing. But before I could text my refusal to go, Julia got in the last word before I could.
Julia: You only live once Grace! I wanna show you how to party!!
I could hear her say those words like she was next to me, but I knew she would face disappointment with the following text I prepared to send. Hovering over the button to send, Daddy rushed in with a gigantic smile on his face.
“Da’s back!”
