Starting this book is similar to how Hadrian must have felt after waking up from fugue -- the situation is a bit hard to grasp as you orient yourself from a long time jump from where book 1 ended -- but now that they've met the painted man, it's felt like the fog has cleared and events have started up once again

This is where the series took off for me. The first book and a half was too slow with no payoff. From this point on I fell in love and Demon in White has been fantastic so far. Enjoy the end!
I'm on the first one and loving it! Bit of a slow burn but that's ok. I know this is an introduction novel so I'm taking that into consideration.
