Sigh. I've been hoping that book 1 was just an extended jump off for the second. But by chapter 5, it's just a bunch of interpersonal blathering that isn't going anywhere, while they've also gotten nowhere on their exploring, having gotten to 1 small building at this point 16% in!

Something strange about the beginning of Transition, it doesn't seem to mesh with the end of Starfarers somehow. Its causing me some trouble resuming the set.
