Mohd Sufian So, what exactly a vitruvian man? I deduced that you are enjoying this book. I'm reading a similar biographical book about Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th US President, the Hero of the American Civil War and the face of 50 USD bill. So far, we are in about the same pages. Let's see who finish first lol.

the sketch was inspired by the writings of Vitruvius, a Roman soldier who designed military machinery and eventually became a builder/architect/artist. His treatise on architecture was heavily studied by Leo and his contemporaries, the aesthetic importance of symmetry and proportions, and Leo's fascination and appreciation of the same things and patterns found in nature, through the vitruvian man he sought to exactly measure and record the "ideal" human body. how are you enjoying the grant bio so far? i know very little about him, ashamed to say. someday i'll get around to reading chernow's bio of grant, but i have to finish leo first lol! hope you're enjoying the autumn weather!
