Shopping. I hate shopping. I hate reading about shopping. Don't care about the characters clothes. Don't care about fetish shops. Unless you're going to have nice public screaming match or something, spare me the shopping. No! Shopping!

So far Macy is like a physically mature 7 year old with ADHD and poor impulse control. (I should know, I live with one that is only lacking in the physical maturity department. Plus no fangs and/or immortality) This makes it really hard for me not to cast York in the mommy role. I am really hoping for some character development here, because this is all fucked up in my head now.

Aiko hey! when you're done with that vamp story I got another one for you! It's a fanfic even! sexy big vamp crushing on human cop. I'm looooving it :D

LenaLena Oh sweet Jesus. *facedesk*

What's it called? Gah, I am too curious for my own good.

message 3: by Aiko (new)

Aiko Hahahaha :D:D
It's called True. Fanfic between Vishous (the vamp) and Butch from Black Dagger Brotherhood.

message 4: by LenaLena (last edited Feb 11, 2012 08:03PM) (new) - rated it 2 stars

LenaLena Does it matter that I have not read any BDB?

Vishous? Srsly?

message 5: by Aiko (new)

Aiko Yes seriously ^^ All the vamps have names like Rhage and Phury and Vishous and so on.
And hmm...I'm not far enough in to say if it matters. I've read the series so it's kind of hard to know what would be missed if I didn't know the society and the war that's going on and ladida. Probably would be a bit strange to just jump into it.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Most of the BDB characters have weirdly spelt suggestive names with extra 'h's. Don't sweat it (and don't read the books, either)

LenaLena LOL. When in doubt use an extra H!

message 8: by Jenn (new)

Jenn I haven't read any of the series & I could follow along. It's really good!

message 9: by Aiko (new)

Aiko You read True Jenn and not BDB?

message 10: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Yep! I thought True was fantastic. I was worried I wouldn't understand it but I followed along perfectly.

message 11: by Aiko (new)

Aiko Ahh! Sweet! I'm so gonna corrupt Marleen with vamp stories! ;D *cackle with glee*

LenaLena Fuck. I need new friends. These are broken.

message 13: by Aiko (new)

Aiko *pout and poke at Kate* Maruliin is mad at me Daddy Kate :<
And besides. Look at it this way, I actually LIKE these books, remember the last "slurp his asshole" escapade you sent me into? ;p

LenaLena Oh, knock it off with the sad puppy routine! I've already sent it to my kindle. There. Happy? But I draw the line at Twilight, just so you know.

You were fully warned about the awfulness of that particular book. Don't make out like I tricked you!

Aiko wrote: "*pout and poke at Kate* Maruliin is mad at me Daddy Kate :< "

Hey, she called me broken too. :P

I think it was Macy. We shouldn't have tried to share him. But you liking the BDB books is a big hole to climb out of, BoE. I don't know if I can get over that right away.

message 16: by Aiko (new)

Aiko haha :D Yes I'm happy now *beam and singsong dance back to True*
And yes, I was fully aware of what I got myself into ^^ Shit why did I have to start thinking about that book though...*Shudder*
No worries about Twilight btw. I actually watched the latest movie in a fever haze few days ago. *shudder some more*
The things I do to myself....

I like Vishous Qhuinn and Blay. See the link between that huh huh? I'm practically desperate for Qhuinn and Blay's story. But for the rest of it...I read it way back when. I was young and dumb and into m/f. What more can I say. It DID on the other hand lead me to m/m with the potential romance between Qhuinn and Blay though. Atm I've given up on ever getting the story I want, and have settled with Lenore's awesome fanfic ;)

LenaLena Qhuinn and Blay are gay, I suppose? Cause I can't tell by the names what gender Blay is. I keep expecting a vamp called 'Mhildly Irrhitated' to show up.

message 19: by Aiko (new)

Aiko hahahahahaha..oh jesus..
Yea Blay is gay, Qhuinn is undecided, but with a streak of bicurious for Blay. But pffhttt...they're ment to be and all that shit.

message 20: by LenaLena (last edited Feb 13, 2012 04:55PM) (new) - rated it 2 stars

LenaLena Qhuinn is Mhildly Ghay? Bicurious? That's pretty mild. Ward doesn't do gay?
So, in the real story, who do Vishous and Butch end up with?

message 21: by Aiko (new)

Aiko V ends up with a human called Jane and Butch with a vamp called Marissa.
I think Ward is scared of not pleasing the mainstream. She has mentioned making a Qhuinn/Blay story that can be read without missing the main-plot that's ongoing through the books. But I think she's just a pussy. There's lots of her readers that don't want a gay couple to be one of here main stories though. I dunno what she'll do.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

I read the first 3 BDB books at various GR friends insistence that these were the best thing evah. Which they aren't. Not even close. But the whole time I was reading Dark Lover I was busy eliminating whats-her-name and Marissa and mentally slashing Butch and Wrath. The guys had much more chemistry than the het pairs. Ward has this gay vibe going through all her books, it's just well hidden under the het stuff so it won't shock the mainstream.

message 23: by Aiko (new)

Aiko Oh I'd never even dream of suggesting Marleen to read BDB. Scared she'd come to Norway with the sole purpose of knocking some sense into me if I did.
And for the last few books all I've been doing is skimming through plot and main romances, looking for Q/B scenes.

LenaLena Hey, Norway is a beautiful country. I could come slap some sense into you AND visit the fjords!

She's written like 15 of these, you'd think it'd be safe to not play it safe by now. If only to kill it off.

Why would an author of pulpy pulp fiction want to kill off a cash cow???!! She makes a ton of $$ off these books.

message 26: by Aiko (new)

Aiko She's no daredevil that's for sure.

Sightseeing and violence. The perfect holiday!

LenaLena The books aren't even kindle lendable, the greedy bitch.

Afterwards we could go get some gravad laks, Aiko. No vacation is complete without weird food!

message 28: by Aiko (last edited Feb 13, 2012 07:46PM) (new)

Aiko That's fine with me. I like weird Norwegian food, it's a side effect from being forces to eat it too many times. When made right it's delicious :D

And yes, I've crowned her queen of bitches for a reason. She might get demoted to princess if she give me mah story.

Eta: forced not forces. Goddamn auto correct.

LenaLena I'm done. I liked it, but it got a bit sappy at the end. It was more fun when they were still all badass in each other's faces.

message 30: by Aiko (new)

Aiko I'm surprised and genuinely happy I haven't ruined vamps forever for you ^^ but yeah, I liked the story, the guys are very much like they're in the real books, just story being told the way it should have been ;) and yips, it got a little honey with the sugar in the end, but no gag-moments so I was happy.

LenaLena Definitely the least annoying vampire I've ever read.
