This was an audio read on hoopla. I didn’t love the audio it’s often a miss for me. I found it difficult to understand what narrator was saying at times. The storyline was too much about the mmc’s father’s killer? I think I wasn’t even sure who he was chasing and why it was hard for me to figure out. Finally the romance build up wasn’t really there.I guess there were glimpses of the couple in other books

But having only read this one there wasn’t enough for me. Mmc was putting FMC off while also pining for her and scaring away other suitors. Meanwhile she was fantasizing about him and secretly craving his attention. There weren’t enough interactions between them more internal dialogue and then spice but then she was like ya know what I’m not sure I want you any more. It just wasn’t pulling me
