There was a lot of telling not showing. Entire paragraphs of MCs giving entire synopses of their past relationship, lives and friend groups. They already have history so there was no real build up and with the drama of her being engaged already having ended I can’t imagine there would be many hurdles to them being together. Her ex fiance sad some horrible things about her
