Also, the world-building is so messed up, for God's sake. Sol, lumen, lumithia, resonance, metals.....wtf? I'm still trying to figure out what Sanderson's Mistborn hemalurgy has to do with all this?
It feels like too much for nada.

I'd like to know whose clever idea was to include the scene of Helena giving birth..and this is related to the war and the supposed overall plot because......?????
This is like the most anticlimactic and uninspired ending I have ever read.
Sorry to those of you who like this book, but this is trash.
Let's keep fanfiction into the fanfiction department, ok?

My dear friends, we made it. Almost there.
Part 3 is just pretty much of the same. Same recycled scenes over and over. Maybe some people like pregnancy tropes, but I loathe them. Specially when it's a forced one like in this book.
The writing keeps being atrocious. The guts some have to compare this to Tolkien or Rothfuss. People, inhaling fungi is bad for your health. LOL.

At 83%, almost 1000 pages, and here it is (at last) the plot twist that has fans of the author on the fence. Although I get where they're coming from, I don't think they fully understand how twisted this story is. And the reason why I disagree strongly with the way Senlinyu decided to portray this story.
I'll dive deeper about this on my review. Stay tuned.

Part 2 completed. Finally. It's been 84 years. LOL.
Part 3, I'm coming for you. Just a little bit more. We're almost there.

You gotta be kidding me that there's people swooning over this guy Ferron. C'mon. He's a huge walking red flag. He's super controlling and hella possessive. How is this supposed to be romantic? The world's gone mad.

I'm kinda side eyeing the people falling for these characters. No shade. But, the overly possessive broody alpha male is kinda cliche at this point. Fuc####, saying "you're mine" like a psycho, and literally killing innocent people to "keep the FMC safe"....are walking red flags to me.

At 65% (almost 810 pages), and given recent events, I think I'm starting to get the whole picture about this story, and I'm not liking it one bit, how it tries to play with your mind, making up excuses to justify what's unjustifiable.
Someone's past traumas doesn't give them free pass to harm others. Just my two tips.

Please, tell me you didn´t go there, making him the one to save her. Don´t be so bloody obvious. I´m begging you to be smarter than this.

I had the same issue but the story is very engaging that my brain has learned to filter through the information and pick up on whatever it can through the story. I am almost halfway through.

Even if the story picks up and does an 180° turn, I'd still detract points because of it. It's the kind of mistake I can't overlook. Some people don't care, but I do. Especially when it stands out like in this book. It's one of those thing you're advised against to in almost every creative writing course. Show, don't tell. Here's it's all telling and it's boring. Worldbuilding is supposed to blend with the story, not to make a halt, so the flow goes out of the window.
Totally get where you’re coming from… when something feels off early on, it’s hard to unsee it. But sometimes when we go into a book already frustrated, we end up hyper focusing on every flaw. Maybe a break could help reset your brain so you’re not just looking for reasons to DNF? Just a thought!
The thing is I actually thought about DNFing this at 8%. But I've decided to read as far as I can, to get the full picture of it. Also, if the book is already flawed from the start, it's not my fault. Taking a break from it won't stop me from seeing them. They were already there. So, what I can do about it?
Just to be clear, I always go to every book with an open heart and mind. I step into them almost blind, unknowing what there's to be know about them. The thing is I caught the vibe of the book almost from the get go. And I can't help that. Sometimes I stick with them, because I like to give them the benefit of the doubt.
Regarding this one, people say keep pushing till you hit a flashback and that's what I'm trying to do. Thing is I can't oversee the many errors this one has.
