“Escort” - 5/5 stars. It’s a maritime ghost story! And it’s extremely well written. One thing I’m noticing about Du Maurier’s writing is that she doesn’t assume the audience knows or doesn’t know something, she just writes beautifully.

The Birds - 4/5 stars. I’ve never seen the film or read this before, so i had no idea what to expect. I greatly enjoyed the characterization here and the exploration of what it’s like to have to rely on survival skills in a domestic setting.

“Don’t Look Now” - wonderfully suspenseful (in a domestic sort of way) throughout, but I’m not very happy about the ending. 3.5/5
Side note - this book has nice thick pages so you feel really accomplished when you read even a little bit of it!
