At first, I thought racism wasn’t such a big problem anymore, but now I realize it still deeply affects people’s lives every day. Reading All-American Boys made me rethink my approach to speaking up when something unfair happens, rather than remaining silent.

Right now in my book, Rashad has been wrongly accused of stealing. I’m starting to think the story will show how bias and prejudice affect everyone because different characters are reacting in very different ways. I’m noticing how Quinn is struggling with what he saw at the store. It makes me wonder if he’ll find the courage to speak up for what’s right.

I think I don't relate to anyone in this book yet because I haven't experienced racism and I also haven't faced police brutality before. But I think I could relate to Rashad later in the book because I have dreams and goals to make history in sports and etc.
