I just wrapped up the prequel, Ultimate Blue Seal (which apparently doesn’t have a goodreads page), and by comparison this spin-off is much more straightforward so far. Blue Seal got pretty complex, kinda convoluted at times, but the scope of the sci-fi premise in this book feels more manageable for my oft-distracted attention span 🙃 I’m just happy to read anything Priest, tbh

Blue Seal was a mid one for me, I liked it enough to keep going with it but it was very confusing at times and (no spoilers) the ending was very Priest-like in its abruptness. Thankfully since Itinerant Doctor has an entry, I'll be able to keep track of my thoughts on this one :)
I thought about starting Itinerant Doctor but Blue Seal just didn’t keep my interest so I decided to hold off. Maybe if you like this one, l I’ll give it a try!
