Not so much reading yesterday as I had a bad day emotionally, but I'm hoping today is a better one. Still enjoying Clavell's writing style though.

I am making sure I give myself a proper slot for reading while we make the arrangements for my Mum's funeral. I am so far enjoying reading Shogun, which I remember vividly from the series starring Richard Chamberlain and John Rhys-Davies; whenever Rodrigues speaks I hear those lines in his voice lol.

Silvia How’s the book so far? I’ve seen the TV series, but I’m really curious to know what the book is like!

Hi Silvia, the series is actually very faithful to the book, though the book is rather more sexually explicit than the tv series. The author has a very engaging writing style, though I don't know if you would be reading it in English or Italian so they may vary.

Silvia I’d probably read it in Italian…I’m still a bit slow with English books, they’re a bit challenging for me! I really enjoyed the tv series. The translations are usually quite faithful anyway. 🤞
Thanks a lot for your insight, it’s really helpful!

You are welcome. English is such a difficult language to read in, especially if you are not a native English speaker. I salute you for your efforts to learn the language at all; I have literally no skill with languages other than English, and yet I still get the meanings of words wrong sometimes.😉 I hope you find it to be as enjoyable to read as you did to watch the tv series. 👌🤞
