I really like Uzma Jalaluddin's books, though I dislike that they are marketed as retellings. (Scoff.)
The most you can say is that they are slightly inpired by JA, but then.... who isn't? ;)

Curiously, her male MCs are always so much easier to like, the females are quite flawed and I need time to warm up to them, but in the end, I usually manage. :)

And as for the emails, maybe they are not that funny in print, but the narrator makes them sound that way. 🤭
