And not seeming to have best relationship with mom but her dad had passed recently and mmc dad had dementia. There just seems like too much going on and was not holding my interest I skimmed and that was sign enough to give this up

Ultimately there was a lot going on with her renovating the inn but having plumbing issues and apparently the mmc also moonlighted as a diy plumber who knew all the coding laws and was apparently more qualified than the guy she hired. There was middle school aged bullying by the local mean girl, and a date where they hand fed a cow. Then drama with the parents her having been adopted

Comparing the 2 bros and it turns him off and she gets mad. She does this consistently even has her engagement ring out when he comes to pick her up later in the book for a date. She was whiny and irritating and I kept wondering how old she was cause she came off child-like. Mmc was a vet but acted weird around her moody cat asking her why she kept it, isn’t he supposed to love all animals or something

I’ve been trying with this book on and off for several days. The cover has you thinking it’s some epic love story. And honestly I love the pining mmc trope and FMC with the wrong man but this just wasn’t done well. FMC was with mmc bro when he first saw and fell in love with her so he never acts on his feelings. They almost hook up a while after they breakup but FMC says some callous comment
