I’m proceeding in earnest but without much enjoyment. I absolutely loved the opening scene, it is why I bought a better copy. The patchwork episodes that follow have been characterized as reminiscent of Dickens or Proust. The verdict is out but I’m simply indifferent so far. Perhaps it is the call of the Zone?
