More bonding and expansion of the world! Feyre sees through the glamours and shows Tamlin her paintings in the gallery. Then the Summer Solstice occurs and they share their first kiss. Knowing what’s to come, it’s bittersweet how much this meant to Feyre at the time. And what darkness awaits them… enjoying this audiobook!

Visiting her family but realizing the dangers that Prythian is in, Feyre returns only to discover the truth from Alis about Amarantha and the curse on the High Lords. Now, they have struck a bargain and her trials Under the Mountain begin. Gosh, SO much foreshadowing of the Maasverse and the series! I would say that Feyre’s observations and moments with Nesta and Elain foreshadowed their eventual arcs.

Rhysand appears again and warns of the upcoming dangers awaiting them Under the Mountain with Amarantha. Tamlin sends Feyre away to her family, where she realizes more of the family dynamic: especially with her sisters. I’m curious to see Elain’s perspective in all of this; SJM did such a great job foreshadowing Nesta’s POV in ACOSF that I can see her vision for Elain in the next book.

So MUCH happened: some bonding between Feyre, Tamlin and Lucien at the glen. I still feel like that pool of starlight they swam in will be important in the Maasverse somehow. Also SJM mentions stags regarding Tamlin a couple of times to make me believe the theories that he is somehow to ToG/CC. Also, Calanmai! Rhys’ iconic first appearance and the Rite. Gosh, SJM truly does such a great job at foreshadowing!

So much happened during this session: Feyre works in Tamlin’s study, where we see the mural to Prythian hinting at much of the Maasverse. Then the iconic first interaction with her and the Suriel (with MUCH foreshadowing of Rhysand and the Night Court). Then the fallout of the naga and the tragic, heartbreaking cruelty of the faerie who lost his wings… I cried! The plot is SO much better than I remembered!

I forgot to update this the other day, but I listened to two chapters via audiobook on a train ride! Feyre’s experience with the puca was frightening, and I left off at a pretty important chapter! It’s so interesting to see how the character dynamics shift in this first book!

Revisiting this is so fascinating! So many details and moments that I recall, but am experiencing in a completely different way. So many nods to Wyrd and the Maasverse. Also, Feyre is so damn smart and she actually is handling her situation very well. Tamlin, Lucien, and Alis are also very good introductions to the Fae. The world of Prythian in the Spring Court is such a great entry point into what lies beyond!

This plot is so well paced upon a reread! I’m not bored at all! So many small details I’m noticing (like Hell being capitalized, just as it was in ToG—SJM, I see what you did there 👀 definitely a CC reference!) Feyre truly is such a complex but also very relatable character. There’s so much here to unpack rereading this as an adult, but I am enjoying this! The narration is also stunning!

Reliving this through audiobook is so cool! Elizabeth Evans’ narration of Feyre and the other characters is fantastic. Also so many details and hints to ACOTAR and the Maasverse that I am already noticing! Loving this!

After seven years, I am rereading the original ACOTAR trilogy for the third time! I am so excited to revisit Feyre’s story in audiobook format for the recent 10th Anniversary Editions that Audible released of Elizabeth Evans’ incredible narration!

That first chapter is already making my gears turn with theories and observations. I am going to fully immerse myself in the world of Prythian!
