Tragedy has struck, and my poor boys are going through it.

Yeah, that creature is pretty horrifying. And I love how it contrasts with the soft relationship developing between Freddie and Eustace.

I really like the descriptions of Freddie’s art.

Eustace is an insouciant idiot. Good thing I like him anyway.
Also, the feeling of something breathing down my neck encroaches.

So we’re just not talking about the fact that something dead is somehow not dead anymore? Okayyy…

(I do like the very subtle creepiness that is building oh-so-slowly.)

We’ve had a creature sighting, and the boys have started saving each other. I have a feeling I’m gonna love this.

Finally, after a dry spell, a protagonist I immediately fall for: a young man in WW1 England, with a heart condition, who seems to love birds more than humans. There’s something fragile and tender about him that touches my heart.
