Tone/Style feels a little unusual for what I normally read but also seems to fit the time period. So far, not a lot of women in this story, nor do I anticipate them having any kind of significant role. We’ll see if it passes the Bechdel test. I’m not holding my breath.

My library loan is about to runout and I don’t want to spend time reading this in Costa Rica. So I’ll pick it back up later.

At the center, there is a void, emptiness, an empty tomb. That is what all Christians long for, to find the stone rolled away, and nothing within.

I’m invested but . . . it’s still mid for holding my attention.

This book is like listening to an older man tell a story. Sometimes brilliant but often tedious.

I can’t tell if it is the narrator or the writing style, probably the later, that just makes me feel not as engaged in this as I’d like to be. I can’t listen to it at work, I get bored. But I’ll try when I’m driving.
