i LOVE that even just in this first volume, we’re seeing several different angles of how the aristocracy poisons people. this time, it’s not even a noble who’s the sinner, it’s someone who has learned how to benefit from upholding the system and all its immorality

i’m excited to see how fast it takes me to despise every vile noble that comes up in this series cause i’m already PISSED and cannot wait to see how baron is gonna get murdered

LOVE the panel of the lamb with a bite taken out of it as william warns the baron about the commoners potentially overthrowing the aristocracy!!! and then immediately following that with the baron leaning on “customs and laws” to protect him…….i don’t think he knows what kind of story he’s in

LOVE that albert mimics liam’s pose when he offers him a spot in the family to help bring about his ideal world. they really are kindred spirits

i will say, the manga did a better job of establishing that the servants ALSO suck cause i remember feeling bad about them getting caught in the fire in the anime. but this version made it clearer that they were also infected by classism and treated liam and louis like the lowest of the low. the entire house was just a cesspool

i was already shocked in the anime when albert stabbed william, but seeing him strangle his mother instead in the manga???????? WILD. i can only assume that it was changed to be more streamlined and focused on william alone, and also maybe bc it’s a bit easier to stomach. idk which version i prefer but both are definitely brutal

WOAHHHH i love that they put the panel of liam in the church under albert’s monologue about his desire to create his ideal world. it shows how aligned they are with both their beliefs AND determination to actually follow through

this panel of the fork made me realize that the manga didn’t have the scene of liam stabbing himself in the hand so louis didn’t have to take william’s punishment!! it seems like the anime wanted to focus most on william and show us more of louis and liam’s relationship off the bat, which makes a lot of sense. maybe they also wanted to tone down the abuse
