Ok, Lily is starting to have some compassion for Deedra

"I ever got around to getting my clients to sign a contract, I decided one of the clauses would be that I didn’t have to go to their funerals."

"It seemed to me that only a woman who’d never experienced sexual violence would think the imitation of it a turn-on." This is an understandable reaction from Lily's standpoint, but women don't deserve to be assaulted or murdered for any reason. Deedras characterization by the other characters and by Lily suggests she got what she deserved. Does the author think that too?

Lily Bard does have strong boundaries and let's people know what she will accept and what she won't accept quite clearly.

"A typical Deedra selection, the suit was just a bit too tight, a smidge too short, and a half-inch too low in the neckline." For who? Lily Bard was always a prickly and judgemental character, but how many ways can she call Deedra a whore?

It's confusing Lily Bards thoughts on Deedra. She worries that once they find the nude photos of Deedra they may not look as hard for her killer, but she also judges her for 'exposing her vulnerability,' which is understanding considering Lily is a victim of assault herself. But she also worries what Deedras mother might think and generally thinks of Deedra as foolishly permiscuous...

I guess considering the title its no surprise Lily Bard is already blaming the victim
