A far future alien species using the term "cosplaying" as a point of reference is pretty weird. It broke my immersion a bit. But considering that's my only gripe in the first 600 pages that's not bad going. Tchaikovsky's book are consistently brilliant, and this one is no different, minor nit-picking aside.

This book is over 600 pages long so my tracking is a little off. It's so good though. Nobody is doing like Tchaikovsky.

So far? SO good.

All other books are going on hold temporarily because the legends at Pan Macmillan came through with a very early review copy! I've been looking forward to this one for so long - we are going on an adventure!
